Midrasha Educational Leadership
The Midrasha staff includes a wide variety of teachers from different disciplines. Our teachers hold advanced degrees from the best yeshiva and academic institutions. The Midrasha is led by renowned lecturers and instructors, among them:
Dr. Esther Fisher
A graduate of the first class of the Midrasha in the year 5746 (1986). Esther teaches Talmud, rabbinical literature and gender studies. Esther holds a master’s degree in Talmud from the Hebrew University and a Ph.D. from the Gender Studies Program at Bar-Ilan University.
One of the founders and instructors of the “Nigun Nashim” Beit Midrash at Oranim ,and a graduate of the Israeli Rabbinical Beit Midrash of the Hartman Institute together with the Midrasha at Oranim .
Member of Rabbinical Organizations: “Beit Hillel” and “Torat Chaim”. Member of “Kolech”.
Lives in Kibbutz Merav, married to Benny , mother of five and grandmother of two.
R’ Rachel Keren
Ordained as “Morat Halacha” at the Bet Midrash for Halacha studies for women – a joint program of Midreshet Ein Hanatziv and Yeshivat Maaleh Gilboa, and head of that Bet Midrash. ( I like the second one better)
At the Midrasha Rachel teaches Jewish philosophy, Bible, Issues on Halachic philosophy and Gender.
She holds a BA and MA from the Hebrew University in Jewish Philosophy and Jewish History and a master’s degree in Gender studies from Bar-Ilan University.
Graduate of the Mandel School for Educational Leadership. Member of Rabbinical Organizations: “Beit Hillel” and “Torat Chaim”. Member of “Kolech” and formerly the chairman of the organization’s executive committee.
Member of Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv, married to Gdalia, mother of three, and a grandmother.
Tania Alon
Maharat Avital Engelberg
R'amit for the program before military service
Avital’s interests include the concept of truth and the development of halacha by Hazal.
She is a graduate of the Halacha program at Midreshet Lindenbaum and is ordained as Rabbi by the Rabbinate of the Yeshivat Maharat in New York.
She holds a BA in theater and an MA in Talmud.
Group instructor, teaches Gmara and Halacha in various frameworks.
Lives in Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv with her family.
Yaara Vidman Samuel
R'amit - Program before service
Teaches Talmud, rabbinical literature and Jewish philosophy.
She holds a BA in Jewish Philosophy and Jewish History from the “Ofakim” program at Tel Aviv University and is currently studying for a master’s degree. Group facilitator by training.
Married to Matan and mother of two.
Lives in Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv.
Rabbi David Bigman
Head of the Ma'ale Gilboa Yeshiva and among founders of the Midrasha
Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Maaleh Gilboa and one of the founders of Midreshet Ein Hanatziv. Rav Bigman holds a BA in Economics from Wayne State University. Rav Bigman studied under Rav Aharon Soloveichik, Rav Aryeh Leib Bakst, Rav Yisrael Zev Gustman. He also studied in Yeshivat Mercaz HaRav. He served as the Rabbi of Kibbutz Maaleh Gilboa and was the Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshivat Hakibbutz Hadati at Ein Tsurim . Rav Bigman teaches advanced Talmud and Jewish Thought in the Midrasha.
Hadas Cohen
At the Midrasha Hadas teaches rabbinical literature and Rabbi Kook theory and is responsible for accompanying the Midrasha soldiers during the service
She is a graduate of Midreshet Lindenbaum and holds a BA in Jewish history and literature from Bar-Ilan University.
Has studied in the “Psychology in Judaism” program under the guidance of Dr. Yair Kaspi.
Lives in Kibbutz Ma’ale Gilboa, married to Hezi and mother to David, Noga, Eviatar, Ayala and Naomi.
