The Midrasha staff includes a variety of teachers in the fields of Halacha, Gmara, Bible , Hasidism and Mishnah. The teachers hold advanced degrees from the best yeshiva and academic institutions. The Midrasha is led by renowned lecturers and instructors, among them:
Dr. Esther Fisher
Head of the Midrasha
Graduated from the first class of the Midrasha in the year 5746. In the Midrasha she teaches Talmud, rabbinical literature and gender.
Esther holds a master’s degree in Talmud from the Hebrew University and a Ph.D. from the Gender Studies Program at Bar-Ilan University.
One of the founders and instructors of the “Nigun Nashim” seminary at Midreshet Oranim , and a graduate of the Israeli Rabbinical Seminary of the Hartman Institute and Midreshet Oranim .
Lives in Kibbutz Merav, married to Livni, mother of five and grandmother of one grandson.
Head of Beit Midrash and Halacha Studies Program at the Midrasha. Graduate of the Halacha program at Beit Morasha and the Midrasha.
At the Midrasha Rachel teaches Jewish philosophy, Bible, Issues on Halachic philosophy, Gender.
She holds a BA and MA from the Hebrew University in Jewish Philosophy and Jewish History and a master’s degree in Gender studies from Bar-Ilan University.
Graduate of Mandel School for Educational Leadership. Member of Rabbinical Organizations: “Beit Hillel” and “Torat Chaim”. Member of “Kolech” and formerly the chairman of executive committee of the organization.

Rabbi Shimon Soreq
administrative director and teacher of Hasidut
Shimon is a graduate of Yeshivot HaKibbutz HaDati in Ein Tsurim and in Ma’aleh Gilboa, has rabbinic ordination and is a rabbi in the Tzohar organization. He has a significant past in kibbutz management.
Member of Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu, married to Tamar, father of four daughters and grandfather of two granddaughters
At Midrasha Tania teaches Zionist philosophy and is responsible for the educational program, the field of self-management and the group process.
She holds a BA in Informal Education and Comparative Literature from Bar-Ilan University and a Master’s degree in Jewish Education and Midrash from the Schechter Institute.
Lives in Tirat Zvi and is the mother of five children.
Maharat Avital Engelberg
R'amit for the program before military service
Avital’s interests include the concept of truth and the development of halacha by Hazal.
She is a graduate of the Halacha program at Midreshet Lindenbaum and is ordained as Rabbi by the Rabbinate of the Yeshivat Maharat in New York.
She holds a BA in theater and an MA in Talmud.
Group instructor, teaches Gmara and Halacha in various frameworks.
Lives in Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv with her family.
Yaara Vidman Samuel
R'amit - Program before service
Teaches Talmud, rabbinical literature and Jewish philosophy.
She holds a BA in Jewish Philosophy and Jewish History from the “Ofakim” program at Tel Aviv University and is currently studying for a master’s degree. Group facilitator by training.
Married to Matan and mother of two.
Lives in Kibbutz Ein HaNatziv.
Rabbi David Bigman
Head of the Ma'ale Gilboa Yeshiva and among founders of the Midrasha
An Midrasha Rav Bigman teaches Issues in Question and answer literature, Jewish philosophy in the modern era
In his youth he studied in the United States in a number of Batei Midrash: Skokie, Rabbi Aryeh Bakst in Detroit. In Israel he studied at the Kerem B’Yavneh Yeshiva where he was ordinate as a rabbi.
He holds a BA degree in Economics with honors from Wayne State University.
Served as Rabbi of Kibbutz Ma’ale Gilboa in the years 5743-5748 and as Rosh Yeshiva of the Religious Kibbutz Movement in Ein Tzurim in the years 5747-5752.
Active in social and halachic issues such as the Mesoravi Get, the “Circles of Justice” group and inter-religious and secular-religious dialogue in various frameworks.
A member of Kibbutz Ma’aleh Gilboa, married to Ariela, father of six and grandfather of five.
R'amit - Army
At the Midrasha Hadas teaches rabbinical literature and Rabbi Kook theory and is responsible for accompanying the Midrasha soldiers during the service
She is a graduate of Midreshet Lindenbaum and holds a BA in Jewish history and literature from Bar-Ilan University.
Has studied in the “Psychology in Judaism” program under the guidance of Dr. Yair Kaspi.

Dr. Hezi Cohen
Coordinator of Bible Studies at the Midrasha
Hezi studies and teaches the teachings and theory of Yosef Hayyim, the Ben Ish Hai.
His PhD dissertation dealt with the topic of “Moses as a mediator between God and man”.
He is a graduate of Yeshivat Hashiluv in Ein Tzurim, and serves as Ram of Bible studies at the Ma’aleh Gilboa Yeshiva.
Lives in Ma’ale Gilboa, married to Hadas and father to David, Eviatar, Noga, Ayala and Naomi.
